A New Football Field for Western Boone High School

The J&D Turf team has been at Western Boone High School (WEBO) the past week.  The task, take a field constructed in 1974, remove the existing bluegrass, ryegrass, fescue stand of turf, laser grade the rootzone and prep for installation of 100% Kentucky bluegrass sod.  Here are a few photos for the project.

Removal of the existing turf using a Koro:

After removing the existing turf all the edges were trimmed and the rootzone was tilled using a Blecavator the field was laser graded:

Irrigation heads were adjusted and brought to finish grade.  The field is now ready for sod.
