Back to Stokley Field and the Central Region Little League Headquarters. Since last visiting this site the following has been completed:
1. Installation of Dura Edge Classic infield mix
2. Installation of Dura Traxx warning track material
3. Installation of 100% Kentucky bluegrass sod
4. Prepping the field for the late July softball tournament - This tournament takes place before the Little League tournament.
A photo recap is below:
A couple of sod installation photos:
Notice that the Dura Edge Classic infield mix was “roughed in” at this stage. All final laser grading of the infield mix was performed after sod installation to ensure smooth transitions.
Next, a photo of rolling the sod. The field was rolled immediately after sod installation.
A couple of photos of the completed field taken on July 7. Opening Day is right around the corner. The infield took 1.10 inches of rain in 30 minutes yesterday and was ready for play 30 minutes after the rain stopped! Another example of how a balanced infield mix makes maintenance easier. Also, notice how the water is running of the back arc, following the .5% grade.
