Newest Baseball Field in Indiana - Late May Update

Stopped by Wabash College last week. Here are a few photos after the first season of college baseball.

The seating bowl.

The next photo shows the 3rd base turn area and the baseline. The bluegrass has thinned over the spring, ryegrass will be added in this area. Remember the earlier blog post in regards to spring green up and traffic tolerance? Click HERE to see the post.

Next, a photo of the infield. The Dura Edge Classic infield mix performed very well during the wet spring.

The field will be core aerified and topdressed over the next couple of weeks. The cores have to be removed due to the fact that the field has a sand based rootzone. This activity will also occur in the fall. The field will continue on a organic fertilizer program with products from Nature Safe.
